Organic Gardening Blog

This organic gardening blog explores the many different ways that people grow successful and sometimes not so successful organic gardens. This is a good place to get tips on what works and what doesn't. There will be videos soon on what is currently working in the garden and what is not along with what to plant to thrive this time of year. What to plant in December will be an upcoming topic.
This will be specific to east San Diego county, Lakeside's El Monte Valley, to be precise. I've done one garden this summer and it was mostly a learning experience. I thought I'd try some container gardening and ended up with another way to not grow squash!
I recently built myself a raised bed garden that I set up as a square foot garden, planted it and fed the squirrels some real nice sprouts. Hopefully they go into hiding for the winter. It doesn't get too cold here in the winter, a little below freezing a few times a year. For the most part sunny skies in the sixties and seventees. Summer time gets really hot out here. I'm talking multiethnic hundred plus days in a row in mid August.
Keeping that in mind I plan on having more success with my winter organic garden than with my summer attempt. Some of my seedlings made it through the rodent attack and are doing well. I'll put up a video later.
